Frequently Asked Questions

Yes indeed! We use only the finest fine art papers and canvas available. Our papers are generally cotton rag with balanced PH to give you acid free stability for the utmost longevity. We only use genuine Epson Ultrachrome inks which on the right media allow us to offer a fade free or yellowing warranty of 150 years! (Indoor lighting conditions away from direct sunlight)

Our Cruse Scanner is a remarkable large format scanning device. It is engineered in Germany and is the only one of it’s kind in South Africa. It sets the standard for scanning excellence which enables us to capture your fine art originals in all their detail and colour fidelity. And let’s face it, this is where it all starts! Your reproduction can only be as good as it’s original digitization. What you put in is what you get out.

For the technical minded the scanner scans at a whopping 1.5 BILLION pixels!

Other benefits are that originals can be scanned in their frames – through the framing glass. Scan size up to 1.5 meters (larger with tiling)

Result – the best fine art reproduction in South Africa. At any price.

Frankly it is garbage! It is translated from French and means “to squirt” (in a rather unsavoury manner). So it actually (sort of) means “ink-jet” which says nothing apart from the fact a Giclée is an inkjet print. It has no quality connotation or warranty of any sort and and is nothing but a meaningless marketing term to confuse the uninformed and extract more $ from you!

What you should be expecting or requesting is an archival quality fine art digital print. Nothing more or less ….
